  • MUAY THAI

    A Thai martial art that includes stand-up striking and clinching techniques. It is known as the “art of 8 limbs” because it utilizes fists, elbows, knees, shins, and feet as weapons

  • DANCE FITNESS

    Fun and fitness using mixed dance styles including, jazz, ballet, tap, folk dances and line dancing (line dancing being the emphasis).  Good exercise, good movement, and good times.

  • Qigong

    Qigong practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind.

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling and ground fighting-based martial art, combat sport, and self-defense technique. It is designed to allow a smaller, weaker person to defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent using the proper method, leverage, joint locks, and chokeholds to defeat the assailant. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, fighters work to achieve stable positions from which they can execute various techniques designed to improve their situation or apply finishing submissions to get their opponent to “tap out” or submit.


Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes at La Conner Fitness & MMA are suitable for students of all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Technique, drilling, position advancement, and sparring will all be thoroughly explained by our qualified instructors. Students will have the chance to practice their newly acquired skills in carefully supervised rolling sessions, with classes focusing on laying a solid foundation of knowledge, abilities, and techniques. Students can anticipate strengthening, endurance, coordination, and self-defense abilities improvement by taking our BJJ classes.

Required Equipment:

  • Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kimono is also known as a gi and is a traditional uniform worn during training and competition in Jiu Jitsu. It consists of a heavy cotton jacket and pants.

  • Shorts should be worn under the gi pants during training.

  • Rash guard: It is a lightweight shirt that can be worn under the gi to help prevent irritation or rashes from the fabric.

  • Sandals should be worn in the training area to keep the mat clean. Removing shoes before entering the training area is essential to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
